Indentured Servitude and its Evolution

Before the Civil War, slaves and indentured servants were considered personal property, and could be sold to any other personalty. The laws began to differentiate between races: the association of “servitude for natural life” with people of African descent became common.

Slavery and Christianity and Christian Slave Spirituals

      In 1800 most slaves in the U.S. had not been converted to Christianity yet. Only a small percent of slave population called to Christianity. Larger numbers of black men and women were christians. Not  a lot of Black men and women were christians. Most slaves didn't believe in christianity.

Slavery and Modern day Racism/ Discrimination

      Slaves didn't have time for 
philanthropy. Nor did they have time for prejudice. They were always working.  Slavery in America was different from any other corner of the world primarily because in America it was viewed early on as the primary foundation upon which an emerging republic could solidify its economic primacy in the global commerce of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries.  African captives who had been inhumane and designated as personal property. Racism cause a lot of discrimination. Slave owners were always stereotypic towards the slaves. White slaves always got treated with more respect.
